He is survived by: his wife Joyce Howard Berbach; his daughter Jennifer Joyce Hefner; his grandson Matthew Howard Hefner of Glen Allen, Virginia; his brother William Brian Berbach of Morton Grove, Illinois; and his cousin Sherri Sippel.
