Fred will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Fred by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Fred is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Fred’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Tarif and Mary (Saab). He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie (Slyman); and his children, Lawrence (Gail), Thomas (Tammy), Linda St. George (Jeff), Alan (Suzanne), Wayne (Riley) and Theresa Light (Michael). He is also survived by eighteen loving grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bliley's Funeral Home (8510 Staples Mill Rd, Richmond, VA 23228). A Mass will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 4:00 PM at the St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church (4611 Sadler Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Virginia Home (1101 Hampton St, Richmond, VA 23220), an institution that supports adults with disabilities.
