He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Bernice and Marion Spicer of Virginia; his brothers, Robert and Howard Spicer; and his son Gary Spicer.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley Spicer; his sister Linda Smith; his children, Brenda Tutwiler, Danny Spicer, Greg Spicer (Debbi) and Becky Barnard (Kerry); and his daughter-in-law Angie Spicer. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
