He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph P. Valasek and Martha (Woolslayer); his in-laws, James Francis O'Neil and Mary (Apolis); and his brother-in-law Paul Gidos.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille; his children, Tyler and Kristen; his sister Cheryl Gidos; his siblings-in-law, Pat (Tom), Linda (Sebastian) and Mike; his nieces and nephews, Cherie Stull, Amber, Jared, Brian Gidos (Alicia), Susan Coulter (George), Bryan, Kyle (Azure), Ian (Alex), Heather, Sean and Matthew; and his aunts, Helen Kushlock and Veronica Peters.
