Rita Epstein Sichel Cagen Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Rita Epstein Sichel Cagen of Richmond, Virginia. Rita, born on July 2, 1933, passed away on October 15, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her daughters, Sharon Spector (Cagen) and Lisa Cagen (Carlos Sancho); her husband Morton C Cagen; and her parents, Don Sichel and Dora Sichel.
She is survived by: her mother-in-law Bertha "Birdy" Cohen; her son Dana Cagen (Susan Cagen); her grandchildren, Audra (Rick), Tara, Elliot and Bel; her great grandchildren, Caleb, Calder and Jensen; her sister Hilda Michel (Sichel); her brother-in-law Walter Michel; and her brothers, Frank Sichel and Joesph Sichel. She is also survived by met the future love of her life and husband.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM at the Star of David Memorial Chapel (7701 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL 33068). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM at the Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel (7701 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL 33068).
In Lieu of flowers, anyone is welcome to make a donation in Memory of Rita to either the Alzheimers Foundation or the Jewish National Fund to plant trees in Israel.
