He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Hogge; his parents, Tessie Owens Hogge and Lewis Harvey Hogge; his siblings, Calvin, Sam, Jennings, Andrew, Marion, John Hogge, Alice Horsley, Betty Lyell and Catherine Heywood; and his grandson John "Little John" Firth.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Edster Hogge, Jr. (Deanna), Michelle H. Firth (John) and Kelly H. Fowler (Jason); and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Blakely, Aubrey, Hadley, Makenna and Easton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends.
A memorial gathering was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory (3098 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Hayes, VA 23062). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Providence Baptist Church (3501 Providence Rd, Hayes, VA 23072).
