It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irving S. Robertson Jr. of Gloucester, Virginia, who passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving Sylvester Robertson, Sr. and Nannie Louise Robertson; his wife Ruby C. Robertson; his son Irving Sylvester Robertson, III; his stepsons, Michael and Keith Thomas; his stepgrandchildren, Maxxwell Robertson and Matthew Thomas; and his siblings, Francis Roberts, William Howard Robertson, Margaret Javins, Adella Mae Layne and Phyllis Colgan.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Robertson, Faye Gibson (Larry), Kaye Gilliam (Michael) and Karen Rowland (Jim); his stepson Jerome Thomas (Nancy); Brenda Bates. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Petsworth Baptist Church.
