He was predeceased by: his parents, Col. Calvin Partin and Opal Partin; and his brothers, James and William Partin. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Partin (Surratt); his children, Beth (Partin), Mary Partin of Cleveland, OH, Kathryn Partin (John Gieser) of Gaithersburg, MD, Jill Partin (Michael Klitzner) of Rixeyville, VA and Jonathan Partin (Linda Partin) of Southwest Harbor, ME; and his grandchildren, Nathaniel Galea, Jon Evans, Jaq Evans, Alan Dowling, Taylor Gieser, JP Gieser, Calvin Partin and Charlotte Partin.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Virginia Institute of Marine Science General Graduate Student Support Fund (3337).
