She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Fuqua Nance and Dovie Gibbs Nance; her former husband Roy Edward Shepherd; and her brother Harry Nance. She is survived by: her son Mark Shepherd of Goode; her grandsons, John Davis Shepherd of Goode, Marcus Edward Shepherd of Goode and Charles Fuqua Shepherd of Huddleston; her great grandchildren, Jayden Shepherd, Ivory Rose Shepherd, Lestat Shepherd and Bethany Shepherd; and her siblings, Edith Elliott of Roanoke, Mary Ellen Ferguson of Moneta and Kenneth Nance of Griffin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
