She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Washington Ladd Sr. and Patsy Estes Ladd; her husband Andrew Allen Carpenter; and her siblings, Edward Washington Ladd, Jr., George Ladd, Eugene Douglas Ladd, Roy Linwood Ladd, Florence Moyer, Lorene Dollins and Betty Jane Allen.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Allen Carpenter (Sharon) of Zion Crossroads, Virginia and Karen Ann Brown (Clifford) of Gordonsville, Virginia; her brother Howard Lewis Ladd (Paula) of Hartfield, Virginia.; her grandchildren, Gary Hunley (Kristen), Shannon Amos, Elaine Trotman and Alyssa Blackstock (E. W.); and her great grandchildren, Meadow, Skylar, Willowmae, River, Ireson, Paxton, Vera Grace, Emma, Grace, Alex, Xen, Rinn and Oakley. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
