She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Washington Ladd Sr. and Patsy Estes Ladd; her husband Andrew Allen Carpenter; and her siblings, Edward Washington Ladd, Jr., George Ladd, Eugene Douglas Ladd, Roy Linwood Ladd, Florence Moyer, Lorene Dollins and Betty Jane Allen.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Allen Carpenter (Sharon) of Zion Crossroads, Virginia and Karen Ann Brown (Clifford) of Gordonsville, Viriginia; her brother Howard Lewis Ladd (Paula) of Hartfield, Viriginia.; her grandchildren, Gary Hunley (Kristen), Shannon Amos, Elaine Trotman and Alyssa Blackstock (E. W.); and her great grandchildren, Meadow, Skylar, Willowmae, River, Ireson, Paxton, Vera Grace, Emma, Grace, Alex, Xen, Rinn and Oakley. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Preddy Funeral Home (301 S Main St, Gordonsville, VA 22942). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
