He was predeceased by : his parents, Lincoln Higgins and Lula Foster Higgins; his significant other Doris Jean Higgins; his granddaughter Catherine Marie Higgins; his siblings, Winston Higgins (Virginia) and Lois Higgins; and his brothers-in-law, Johnny Marks and Delma Shifflett.
He is survived by : his sons, Rev. Donald Keith Higgins (Nancy) of Petersburg and Rev. Barry Trent Higgins (Linda) of Gordonsville; his grandchildren, Tabitha Joyce Carpenter (Patrick) of Gordonsville, Amanda Jean Baseler (Brooks) of Gordonsville, Laura Pauline Drake of Spotsylvania, Dr. Sarah Ann Higgins of North Carolina, Elizabeth Joye Higgins of North Carolina and Benjamin Keith Higgins of North Carolina; his great grandchildren, Matthew Edward Carpenter of Gordonsville, Hanna Grace Carpenter of Gordonsville, Jacob Trent Carpenter of Gordonsville, Kaelynn Jean Drake of Spotsylvania, Allyson Marie Drake of Spotsylvania, Jonathan Lewis Drake of Spotsylvania and Jackson Cole Drake of Spotsylvania; his siblings, James "Jimmy'' Higgins (Phyllis) of Charlottesville, Catherine Gillispie (Paul) of Scottsville, Ina Wilson (Dan) of Scottsville, Lula Marks, Pauline Racer (Herman) and Katharine Shepard of Madison; and his friends, Lula Johnson and Tommy Breeden. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
