She was predeceased by: her husband G. Merl Longest Sr.; her parents, Roderick Hockaday and Lottie Hockaday; and her siblings, Raymond, W. P. Hockaday, Ruth Edenton and Leah Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Garrison (Andy) of Little River, S. C., Debbie Miller (Bryan) of Deltaville, Diane Pierce (Rob) of St. Stephens Church and George M. Longest Jr. (Sandy) of St. Stephens Church; her grandchildren, Jenny Moore (Brandon), Andrew Garrison, Bryan Allyn Miller (Jennifer), Ashley Taliaferro (Mark), Blake Miller (Courtney), Sara, Grace, Anna Pierce, Chris Longest (Tiffany), Jason Longest and Woody Johnson (Kelley); her great grandchildren, Milaina, Gavin Moore, Baylen, Benton, Cayden Miller, Duncan, Luke Taliaferro, Kinsley, Bladen Miller, Millie, Lillie, Toby Longest, Mason and Owen Johnson; her sister Catharine Mathis of Spotsylvania; and her siblings-in-law, Robert Longest of St. Stephens Church, Jean Hitchcock of Mechanicsville and Pauline Swenson of St. Stephens Church. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
