He was predeceased by: his siblings, Carson E. Hamlett, Jr., Harold Hamlett, Ruby H. Turpin, Frances H. Jones, Myra H. Hodges and Mary Alice H. Dillard.
He is survived by: his wife Doris "Ann" Mattox Hamlet of Gretna; his children, Ellen H. Womble (Andrew) of Hampstead, NC and Irvin "Lee" Hamlet, Jr. (Valerie) of Roanoke; and his grandchildren, Sam Deyerle (Shani), Rachel Deyerle, Josh Hamlet, Tyler Hamlet and Sophia Hamlet.
