He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam David Rowland and Hitaska Barbour Rowland; his daughter Patty Fulk; his grandchild Tagan Edwards; and his siblings, Pearlie Rowland and Junior Rowland.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Rowland; his children, Tommy Rowland (Kim) of Ringgold, Shirley Johnson of Nashville, TN, Lisa Stone of Danville and Ann Caviness of Galax; his sister Minnie Bradner (Anderson) of Hurt; and his grandchildren, Devin Caviness and Blake Evans. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
