He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Thelbert Lewis and Willie Logan Lewis; and his son James Lewis, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Laura Lewis; his children, Teena Kinney (Kevin), Ronn Lewis (Kelly) and Laurie White-Boyette; his siblings, Thelbert "Sonny" Lewis, Jacqulin Coles (Charlie), Zenovia Slayton (Robert) and Dianne Rice (Terry); his siblings-in-law, Rosa Carter, Earnest Logan (Linda) and Lynwood Logan; and his aunts, Pearl Green and Gracie Thompson (Jimmy). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
