He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Cecil Cardwell and Rebecca Layne Cardwell; and his brother Cecil Cardwell. He is survived by: his nieces, Pam C. Johnson (Steve) of Charlottesville and Kelly C. Nuckols (Chuck) of Cary, NC; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Allison Nuckols, Abby Reiter (Jason), Tyler Johnson (Bailey) and Hunter Johnson.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Andrews United Methodist Church Cemetery (10164 E Gretna Rd, Gretna, VA 24557).
