She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter Lewis and Gertrude Hall Lewis; her husband Charles Smith; and her siblings, Nancy Gilbert, Wattie Lewis and Lionel Lewis.
She is survived by : her sons, Charles Smith (Sylvia) of Evington, Allen Smith (Delise) of Hurt, Gary Smith (Twanna) of Altavista, Courtney Smith (Patricia) of Altavista and James Pannell of South Carolina; her siblings, Irvin Lewis of Nathalie, Sandy Lewis of Gretna, Eula Mae Adams of Nathalie, Thelma Graves of Martinsville and Wanda Davis (Joseph) of Hurt, Virginia; her uncle Dennis Hall (Helen) of Gretna, Virginia; her siblings-in-law, Joyce Witcher of Long Island, Virginia, Andy Witcher of Gretna and Richard Witcher of Richmond, Virginia; and her sons, Wayne Payne and Tim Payne. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren.
