He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde William Bennett and Cassie Leftwich Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Dalton Bennett; his children, Dawn Perkins (Donald) of Gretna and Jamie Bennett (Wendy) of Gretna; his sister Alice Owen of Gretna; his grandchildren, Brett Perkins (Allison), Zach Perkins, Trey Bennett (Katie), Camdyn Bennett and Jake Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Josh Perkins, Andrew Perkins, Leah Perkins, Eden Perkins and Gray Bennett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Round Pond Baptist Church, 11293 Toshes Road, Sandy Level, VA 24161 or to Gretna Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 14, Gretna, VA 24557.
