He was predeceased by: his parents, John Huston Bailess and Vera Soyars Bailess; his son Chris Bailess; and his daughter-in-law Holly Bailess. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Leigh Bailess; his daughters, Kimberly Bailess of Lynchburg, Kelly Bailess of Lynchburg and Amanda Hogan (Matthew) of Gretna; his brother Donnie Fowler (Michelle) of Chatham; and his grandchildren, Tucker Bailess (Kelsi), Ray Durham, Noah Durham, Emma Hogan and Steven Hogan.
