He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Grayson and Myrtle Grace McDonaldson (Morris); his wife Susan Ann McDonaldson; and his daughter Wendy McDonaldson. He is survived by: his children, Larry McDonaldson, Jr. (Tari Richards) and Holly McDonaldson (Shea Mullenax); his grandchildren, Katlyn Stokes (Phillip), Dylan McDonaldson, Christin Hensley, Jessica McDonaldson, Lauren Hensley and Emmy McDonaldson; and his great grandchild Hayes McClellan.
