She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert A. Saunders and Evelyn Hutchings; and her husband Dr. William H. "Billy" Gibbs, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Resa L. Gibbs; her daughter-in-law Jackie Merritt; her sister-in-law Ada G. Milligan (William); and her cousin Jan N. Boykins. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, extended family, and cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Historic First Baptist Church of Norfolk, Inc., or to Open Door Christian Fellowship Church in South Mills, North Carolina.
