He was predeceased by: his wife Dr. Betty Howard Peters; his parents, Burnett Peters Sr. and Catherine Peters; and his stepmother Maude Peters. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Meredith Peters (Nick), Jaclyn Stokes, Ashley Hembrick, Brittany Hembrick, Terry Stokes and Joseph Peters; his great grandchildren, William Peters, Audrey Peters, Evelyn Peters and James Masterson; and his nieces, Deborah Howard, Elease Howard and Roslyn Holsey (David).
