She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Garlick and Gladys Cleo Garlick; her husband Robert Byrd; and her siblings, Bernard Garlick, Jr., Thomas Edward Maker and Martha May Lindsey.
She is survived by: her children, Lawrence Santiful, Jr. (Donnetta) of Portsmouth, VA and Edna Renee White (Walter) of Hampton; her grandchildren, Roshaun Tate (Tiffany) of Williamsburg, VA, Troy Tate of Everett, WA, Alex Santiful of Poquoson, Wayne Herbert of Suffolk, VA and Lakia Santiful of Hampton, VA; her aunt Gertrude Stewart of League City, TX; her sister-in-law Florence Garlick of Columbus, GA; and also England Haywood of New Kent, VA. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Home (4304 Victoria Blvd, Hampton, VA 23669). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
