He was predeceased by: his wife Marsha Leake Garrett; his parents, Clyde Richard Garrett, Sr. and Hazel Quinn Garrett; his uncle Dr. Carlton Moseley; his sister Barbara; and his brothers-in-law, Allan "Sonny" Diedrich and Charlie Cuthrell.
He is survived by: his son Richard Coleman Garrett; his daughter-in-law Renee Garrett; his daughter Julie Garrett Rudy of Smithfield; his son-in-law Kevin Rudy; his grandchildren, Brittany, Wade, Morgan and Nick; his great grandchild Thomas; and his sister Betty Garrett Cuthrell. He is also survived by several nephews, a niece, cousins and other extended family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (1458 Todds Ln, Hampton, VA 23666).
