He is survived by : his wife Sharron Diane Wilson; and his children, Durward J. Wilson, Jr. (Lisa Ann) and Valerie Wilson (Steve).

A committal service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Parklawn Memorial Park (2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666). A reception was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Angelos Steak House (755 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601).
