The memory of Erika Davis Saunders of Hampton, Virginia, who passed away on April 18, 2024 at the age of 83, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by : her former life partner Tom Davis; and her husband Joe Saunders. She is survived by : her children, Caroline Peacock (Mike), Susan Wright (Royce), Chrissy Malcolm (David) and Thomas Davis; her stepsons, David Saunders (LeAnn), Mark Saunders (Michelle) and Matthew Saunders (Cheryl); and her grandchildren, Patrick Kelly, Jacob Kelly, Matt Lowery, Nikki Bruner (Ryan), Dylan Malcolm, Jake Malcolm, Taylor Malcolm, Bella Saunders, Michael Saunders, Katie Saunders, Ryan Saunders, Samantha Saunders, Christopher Saunders, Brianna Saunders, Jonathan Saunders, Caitlyn Saunders and Ciera Saunders. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home (245 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Resurrection Lutheran Church (765 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601).
