He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Coles, Sr. (Bessie Braxton Coles) and Bessie Braxton Coles; and his brother Harry "Sputnik" Coles (Vernell). He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Kelley of Newport News, Virginia.; his children, Harold "Lil Bit" Coles, Jr. and Kellie Coles Robinson; and his sister Gwendolyn C. Hudgins (Lewis). He is also survived by four grandchildren; a great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
