James left this world on May 7, 2026 at the age of 85, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Norman Peters and Laura H. Jester; his brother John Postley; and his former wife Marga Jester. He is survived by: his wife Ethel B. Jester; his children, Marilyn Alisa Cable (Michael) and Scott C. Jester (Max); his grandchildren, Shawn Taylor, Tiffany Clark and Nathaniel Noel; and his cousin Joyce Lewis.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Altmeyer Funeral Home - Denbigh Chapel (12893 Jefferson Ave, Newport News, VA 23608).
