She was predeceased by: her parents, Evie Riggs Alston and Alfred Plummer "A. P." Alston; her siblings-in-law, Evelyn C. Hobbs, Herbert Hobbs and Joan C. Whitney; her cousin Arlene Ward; and her extended family Alvin Clemens.
She is survived by: her husband Charles "Chuck" F. Clemens, Jr.; her daughters, Catherine C. Black (John) and Lisa K. Clemens (David Gaffney); her grandchildren, Evie C. Gaffney, Alston G. Black and Claire A. Gaffney; her siblings-in-law, Donna C. Seabolt and David Whitney; and her extended family Penny Clemens. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home (245 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hampton Baptist Church (40 Kings Way, Hampton, VA 23669).
