She was predeceased by : her husband Denver Lee Cotton; her parents, Julia Jackson and Prentis Jackson (Denver Cotton); her siblings, Wyatt Jackson (Bo) of North Carolina and Judy Rierson; and her son Jeffery Cotton.

She is survived by : her siblings, Shirley Best of North Carolina and Lemuel (McCoy); her children, Debbie Roscopf (Lee) of Newport News, VA and Duane Cotton (Becky) of Chesapeake, VA; her grandchildren, Heather Cotton (Chris), Courtney Sibley (Craig), Dana Ardary (Brendon), Haley Cotton, Alexa Cotton and Gavin Cotton; her great grandchildren, Lola Cotton, Alana Cotton, Cambrie Ardary, Aiden Powell and Fallon Ardary; and her pet Romo. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Langley Baptist Church (116 Little Back River Rd, Hampton, VA 23669).
