She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Adeline Underwood Palmer and James Elmer Palmer; her husband Michael Adkins Gilliland (Mickey); her sister-in-law Vivian Gilliland Queen; and her siblings, Pauline Palmer Wilson, Mark Palmer and Doris Jean Palmer Dotson.
She is survived by: her grandson Palmer Gilliland; and her siblings, Geneva Palmer Moody, Hazel Palmer Henson, Betty Palmer Gilliland, George Palmer and Thomas Palmer. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (514 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in her honor to your local food bank or Friends of the Smokies (Cataloochee Valley).
