It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Jane Smith (Hampton, Virginia), born in Tipton, Indiana, who passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Frederick A. Smith Jr.; her stepchildren, Carolyn Smith and Russell Smith; and her niece Patricia Barnes. She is survived by: her sisters, Norma and Janice; her brother-in-law Rufus Baldwin; her niece Nancy Pritchard (Terry); her sons, Robert Burns (Beth) and Ronald Burns; her stepson Frederick Smith; her daughters, Allison Briggs (Peter) and Teresa Walters; her grandchildren, Benjamin (Erin), Patrick, William (Staci), Hannah (Luke), Caleb, Ruthanne (John), Jesse (Scoti), Nicole (Paul), Curtis, Josh (Lauren) and Carolyn Jane; and her great grandchildren, Gavin, Axel, Essence, Levi, Xavier, Sophie, Greyson, Victoria, Ethan, Alice, Leon, Evelyn and Eleanor. She is also survived by sons & daughters.
