It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Randall Akins Gilliland of Hampton, Virginia, born in Waynesville, North Carolina, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Randall Akins departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Randall Akins. Though Randall Akins may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Elizabeth Adeline Underwood Palmer and James Elmer Palmer; his parents, Patsy Palmer Gilliland (Pat) and Michael Adkins Gilliland (Mickey); and his aunt Vivian Gilliland Queen.
He is survived by: his son Palmer Gilliland. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
