It is with sadness that the passing of Richard Bessette (Hampton, Virginia) is shared. Richard, born on September 14, 1929 in Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on February 10, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bessette and Blanche Bessette (Cote); the mother of his children Georgia Bessette (Koons); his children, Janet Zapolski and Richard "Buzz" Bessette; his daughter-in-law Debby Bessette; and his siblings, Adrian Bessette, George Bessette and Claire St. Jean.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Bessette (Tammi), Linda Bessette and Tracy Luna; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lopez, Karen Ramsey (Doug), Audra Poppy (Mike), Ricky Bessette (Hazel), Lindsay Epstein (Kevin), Robby Bessette (Candy), Missy Barrickman, Andrew Luna, Diana Taubert (Luke), Adam Luna and Michael Quattlebaum; and his sisters, Alice Coderre and Rita Johnsen. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
