He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Sylvia Doggett; and his parents, Robert V. Doggett and Hester Carr Doggett. He is survived by: his son Philip (Mandy); his granddaughter Breanna of Williamsburg; his great grandchild Amanda (Joe Weatherman) of Newport News; his daughter Valerie Sikora of Richmond; his grandchildren, Hannah and Sam of Los Angeles, California; his son Gregory (Beth); and his grandchildren, Raina and Benjamin of Richmond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church (7356 Atlee Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111). A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hollywood Cemetery (412 S Cherry St, Richmond, VA 23220).
He was truly "a rocket scientist."In 2024, Randolph-Macon College awarded Bob an honorary Doctor of Science degree for his scientific achievements and his contributions to the College.
