He was predeceased by: his parents, S. Ross Melgaard and Helene Rodgers Melgaard. He is survived by: his wife Claudia D. Melgaard; his stepdaughters, Rebecca W. Bales (Tom) and Sarah W. Vanlandingham; his grandson Collin E. Vanlandingham; and his siblings, Eric J. Melgaard (Donna) and Barbara L. McGlothlen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
