With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Richards Gentry Jr. of Hanover, Virginia, born in Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on January 15, 2024 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, John Richards Gentry and Mary Sharp Gentry; his former life partner June Enroughty Gentry; his wife Anne Chewning Gentry; his grandson John Warner Allison; and his sister Elizabeth Gentry Southard.
He is survived by : his children, Sue Gentry Allison (Sam) and John Chewning Gentry (Lee); his granddaughters, Anne Gentry Hershfield (Michael) and Elizabeth "Libbie" Lee Gentry; his great grandchildren, Elle Gentry Hershfield and Peyton Elizabeth Hershfield; and his sister Annie Laura Gentry Downing.
