He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert J. Layman and Hazel Pauline Layman; and his brother Herbert J. Layman, Jr.. He is survived by: his brothers, Robert Layman (Pansy) and Jon Layman (Debby); his children, Brian N, Amie N. Layman and Travis W. Layman; his grandchildren, Jenna E. Layman and Ryan Layman; and his close friend Jenny Saunders.
