With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Baer Risser (Harrisonburg, Virginia), born in Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on June 7, 2022 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jonas Eby Hege and Elizabeth Baer Hege; her husband Benjamin Meyers Risser; and her siblings, Lois Brenneman, Nathan Hege (Arlene) and Martha Hossler (Paul).
She is survived by: her children, Ben Risser (Kathy) of Broadway, VA, Dave Risser (Doris) of Wooster, OH, Phil Risser (Pam) of Greencastle, PA, Joy Yoder (Elwood) of Harrisonburg, VA and Jewel Yutzy (Dave) of Timberville, VA; her siblings, Dorothy Groff (Marvin) of Canton, PA and David Hege (Arlene); her siblings-in-law, John Brenneman and Cora Horst; and her grandchildren, Autumn Isom (Jeremy), Heather Harper, Alisha Justice (Brent), Jon Risser (Jonalyn), Mark Risser (Laura), Daniel Risser (Cara), Elizabeth Barthlow (Jason), Lena Weaver (Adam), Leah Laughlin (Sam), Amanda Risser, Nate Yoder (Maggie), Maria Billings (Aaron), Phil J. Yoder, Ben Yutzy (Risa), Aaron Yutzy (Andrea) and Lauren Troyer (Anthony). She is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren.
