He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Otis and Ruby Elizabeth Smith Nelson; his wife Roxann Smith; his children, Tracy Fulk (Steve) of Fulks Run, Andy Nelson (Lora) of Harrisonburg and Jamie Franklin Nelson of Harrisonburg; his grandchildren, Johnny David Fulk of Fulks Run, David Anthony Nelson of Harrisonburg and Sara Jean Nelson of Harrisonburg; and his brother Terry Nelson (Renita) of Lexington, VA..

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Grandle Funeral Home, P.O. Box 114 Broadway, VA 22815, to help with expenses.
