It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Fred Edward DeMastus of Harrisonburg, Virginia, born in Staunton, Virginia, who passed away on January 26, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Alexander and Mary Rebekah Rice DeMastus. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Ann Hornick Sloop; his children, Mark DeMastus (Theresa) of Elkton, Marc Sloop (Alison) of Mt. Jackson, Joshua Sloop of Harrisonburg and Teresa Martin (Bobby) of Ruckersville; and his brother Gary DeMastus (Judy) of Florida. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
