He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Carlton Harper and Sally Elizabeth Cooper Harper; his daughter Tammy Lynn Benson; his siblings, Randall Harper, Carlton Harper, Karen Harper Murphy, Joyce Harper Barrix and Phyllis Paugh; and his brother-in-law Lonnie Morris.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Marie Smith Harper; his sons, Timothy Harper (Michelle) and Frankie Wenger (Kay); his grandchildren, Ashley Snipes, Samantha Thompson, TJ Harper, Megan Collier, Blade Benson, Kaylee Wenger, Brooke Harper and Emma Harper; and his siblings, Linda Rogers Adkins (Jeff), Sherry Morris and Sandy Englehart (Hans). He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
