He is survived by: his children, Ken Thomas (Faye) of Pelzer and Beth Toscano (George) of Harrisonburg; his sister Ann Thomas Hawley of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Dawn Burtner, Jana Burtner, Lindsey Chandler and Leah Thomas; his great grandchildren, Avery Chandler and Anna Swain; his niece Sara Hawley; and his great-nephews, Brandon Hawley and Ian Sabo.
