She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Eldon Fitzsimmons and Isabel Flynn Fitzsimmons; her husband Charles Alfred; and her sisters, Rita Fitzsimmons and Eileen Halpin.

She is survived by: her children, Leslie Nickel and Eric Nickel (Jacki); and her grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, Sara and Peter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Harrisonburg Rockingham SPCA or the Isaiah 117 House of Rockingham County.
