As we bid John farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For John is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Mast and Rachel Mast; and his sister Leona Peters. He is survived by: his wife Pauline "Polly" Herr Mast; his children, Richard Mast (Kathy) of Sugar Grove, VA and Joy Mast Gullman (Ric) of Linville, VA; and his siblings, Glen Mast (Margaret), Anna Mary Mast Shepherd (late Larry) and Jean Mast Hess (Dan). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-seven greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
