She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Messner and Lois Messner. She is survived by: her children, Brenda Witmer (Gerald) of Harrisonburg, VA, Karen Markle (Brian) of Reston, VA, Kenny Kreider (Kim) of Morgantown, WV and Steve Kreider (Becky) of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Autumn, Ben, Adam, Sophie, Levi, Riley and Aidan; and her brothers, David Messner of Harrisburg, PA and James Messner of Harrisonburg, VA..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to local or national charities focused on the needs of children (Easter Seals, United Way, St. Jude Hospital, etc.) are encouraged.
