He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Guy and Frona Belle Oates Smith; his brothers, Floyd "Junior" Guy Smith Jr. and Carl Lewis Smith; and his brother-in-law Donald Lewis Bradfield.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sherry Lynn Braithwaite (Chuck) and Michele Smith Bridges (Bart); his granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Shockey (Jake), Lindsey Renee Price (Jarrett), Jordan Elizabeth Bridges and Addison Faith Bridges; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Smith and Mary Bradfield; and his nephews, Jeffrey Smith, Kelly Smith (Christi), Brian Smith (Samantha), Steven Bradfield and Kevin Bradfield (Venus).
