With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Patricia Ann (Olinghouse) Messner of Harrisonburg, Virginia, born in Kendallville, Indiana, who passed away on July 25, 2025 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivory Olinghouse and Grace Olinghouse; her husband Jim; and her children, Jenny Ann and Andrew Robert.
She is survived by: her children, Amy Heffernan (Matt) of Spartanburg, SC and Tom Messner (Lisa) of Broadlands, VA; her daughter-in-law Kim Messner of Glen Allen, VA; her grandchildren, Chris Messner, Patrick Messner, Brian Heffernan (Meghan), Adam Messner, Jacob Messner and Anna Heffernan (Kyle); and her pet Sam.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Kyger Funeral Home - Harrisonburg (3173 Spotswood Trail, Harrisonburg, VA 22801). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Asbury United Methodist Church (205 S Main St, Harrisonburg, VA 22801).
