He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Knight Sampson; his son Darrell Lee Sampson (Tricia) of Rockingham; his siblings, Eugene Sampson (Donna) of Harrisonburg and Barbara See of Harrisonburg; and his grandsons, Darren Sampson and Troy Sampson.
