We are sad to announce that on December 16, 2023, at the age of 77, Roger Carl Nelson of Harrisonburg, Virginia, born in Cumberland, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Orville Ramsey and Alma Mae Taylor Nelson; his siblings, Orville Ramsey Nelson Jr., Paul Nelson and Wilda Belle Olsen; and his brother-in-law Donald Reid.

He is survived by : his children, Bryan Matthew Nelson (Katrina) of Shenandoah and Kimberly Nelson Taylor (Steven) of Kernersville, NC; his siblings, Rosemary Reid of Cresaptown, MD and Ronald Nelson (Jean) of Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Nathaniel David Nelson, Chelsea Anne Nelson Johnson (Donnie), Jacob Bryan Nelson, Logan Paul Taylor and Savannah Nicole Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Jaden Johnson, Lily Johnson and Finn Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter #1061, P.O. Box 1754 Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
